Leonard Cole died from wounds on 6th October, 1916, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 11th Royal West Kent battalion were part of 122 Brigade, 41st Division that had recently been involved in the fighting associated with the Battle of the Somme in the summer and autumn of 1916.
